Animal feeding and conservation talks

Easter - November 1st 2008

11.30 pm  Hand feed Giraffes - on the walkway - inside if wet
12.00 pm  Meet a snake and cure any fears
12.30 pm  Apes and Monkeys feeding
1.00 pm    Rhino conservation talk
1.30 pm    Spectacled Bears
2.00 pm    Lemurs - you can help us feed them
2.30 pm   Tiger feeding - unique in Europe   
3.00 pm    Penguin Feeding
3.20 pm    Vulture feeding
3.45 pm    Giraffe conservation talk followed by
4.00 pm    Hand feed giraffes
4.25 pm    Lions attack there food up 6m high trees

 All day Hand feed the largest collection of kangaroo species outside Australia.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Specially designed enclosures enable individuals to experience the sights, sounds, and a few smells, of our animals close up. Wander through the Australian Bush where Lemurs, kangaroos, Wallabies, Emus, Muntjac deer roam free. Hand feed the largest collection of kangaroo species outside Australia Monkeys in Europe roam free, Hand feed the largest groups of Lemur monkeys in Europe (supervised), and not forgetting our ducks. Escorted tours are available at certain times of the year ring for details.

INFORMATION FOR GROUP ORGANISERS

We require a 1 adult to 5 children ratio. 1 adult is admitted free with every 5 paying children/pupils/students.

  • For a hassle free day talk to us about booking your ice-creams, kangaroo/duck food we can even put together goody bags for you - just tell us how much you want to spend.
  • One person should be responsible for the group's entrance fee
  • No advance payment is required - payment on the day of the visit can be by cheque, cash, Visa/Mastercard/Switch.

FREE PRE-VISITS FOR TEACHERS

Please contact us if you would like to visit the park this will give you the perfect chance to see our facilities first-hand and to chat to members of the team about your requirements. It is strongly recommended that all teachers make a pre-visit to South Lakes Wild Animal Park to carry out their own risk assessment before undertaking an outing with children. Please contact us to book your visit so that you can plan your day in advance.
